    INSPIRATION

6 - 6:45pm Digging Deep With Dr. D.  Our guest archaeologist will tell us about this land, it’s history & prehistory, because his science is about among many things; telling a story, looking to the past to understand the future, & patiently uncovering information. Stories can be told the same way, uncovering the strata of layers through time.

    BUILDING COMMUNITY

    6:45 -7:45pm Starting Songs with Art & Archaeology w/Deb & Sue

Start with Deb as she inspires you to make your own original art piece, then Sue will give you some writing prompts based where your writing, science, and art meet.

    8 - 9:30pm Open Mic Introduction/Icebreaker

We invite you to play the main stage: sign up, tune up,  bring a song to stage as a means of introduction.  But before you start your song, tell us briefly how you wrote it. Let’s get to know each other as writers. (This is not a feedback open mic).

9:30 - 10:30pm Art of the Jam with Jonas Friddle at campfire or Quonset hut - weather depending.

  • SATURDAY MAY 30

Deb will also be there as your artistic guide explaining how you can implement what you see, touch & learn in your book. Bring your notebooks, and phones for pics.

10:30 - 11:45am Idea Book Making with Deb

Deb will guide folks through the process of building their own mini song-zine from a single sheet of paper. Participants can personalize and decorate their “books” with beautiful cover papers and upcycled collage materials that can then inspire written ideas, poems and songs. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along your own special photos or other flat, glue-able imagery to include. Let the dig, layers, strata, and imagery inspire you.
